Numismatics Show at Macomb Sports & Expo Center

For the first time ever, the MSNS will hold its annual Fall Convention and Coin Show at the Macomb Community College South Campus in Warren.  The public is welcome to attend this three day event over Thanksgiving weekend.

Founded in 1956, the society promotes numismatics, or the study of money.  MSNS is headquartered in Canton, MI, and is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit.  Its nearly 1300 members pay annual dues of $12, and receive a quarterly magazine.  MSNS meets four times each year in various locations throughout Michigan, but the fall convention is the biggest gathering of coin enthusiasts all year.

“Anyone who attends the annual fall convention cannot come away without finding something interesting,’ said Joe LeBlanc, MSNS secretary /treasurer.

Over 175 coin dealers and thousands of coin collectors are expected to attend this event from as far away as Dallas and Las Vegas.  Vendors will be eager to buy and sell coins and will be able to offer coin and paper money appraisals.

Free educational talks and displays will be offered for all ages, including programs for youth.  On Saturday, a Young Numismatics luncheon will include a special gift for each youth in attendance. The convention program listing all of the scheduled events for the three days will be posted on the NSMS website www.michigancoinclub.org

This event is free, and will be held over Thanksgiving weekend, November 23, 24, 25, 2012.  The doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.  Macomb Community College Expo Center is located at 14500 East 12 Mile Road in Warren.
