Planning and Economic Development




  • Developed and launched two interactive maps - one that highlights public art across the county and another that helps the public understand county roads in terms of conditions and costs.
  • Assisted the City of Richmond in creating a new Master Plan.
  • Completed the Mobilize Macomb plan with great input from communities and residents about enhancing Macomb County's non-motorized transportation network. 
  • Elevated Lake St. Clair as a prominent bass fishery by collaborating with the Detroit Sports Commission, the Metroparks, and SHRCC, to host the FLW Tour for bass fishing. 
  • Worked with SEMCOG to capture the Clinton River and Coastal Lake St. Clair along with the Macomb Orchard Trail using Terrain 360 imagery in efforts to provide the public with a tool for planning outings along trails and water routes.
  • Partnered with Six Rivers Land Conservancy to identify and acquire several large tracts of wooded wetlands in areas near Lake St. Clair that will help sustain the fish and wildlife populations in the lake.
  • Received Great Lakes Restoration Initiative funding to plant an additional 1,400 larger trees in targeted public areas of communities which increased the tree canopy cover and helped improve the general health of the citizens, reduce utility costs, improve home values and local aesthetics.
  • Partnered with the Blue Water Conservation District to host two Macomb County-based tree sales for local residents and businesses which resulted in the sale and planting of more than 40,000 trees and shrubs throughout the county.
  • Received grants from USEPA and Sustain Our Great Lakes that will be used transform the Sterling Relief Drain area by reworking systems to allow stormwater to recharge into the groundwater as well as planting trees, shrubs, and flowers that will enhance the urban tree canopy in a meaningful way.
