Baker Industries marks 25 years with big investment

Macomb Township-based Baker Industries Inc. is celebrating 25 years in business, and better yet, those 25 years have been filled with promising advancement.

Founded in 1992 as a three-person duplicating shop, the company has grown over the years into a tier one and tier two supplier of prototype production parts to the aircraft, military and automotive industries. Through strategic investments in design, engineering, fabrication, machining, tooling and 3D printing, they are on par with some of the most advanced manufacturers in the country.

Baker currently has 233 employees on staff, and the company’s global reach extends across the United States, Canada, Mexico, China and Japan. They have received several awards including the Boeing Performance Excellence Award for five consecutive years and were named the 2017 Diversification Leader at the Macomb Business Awards. Baker has been named a top rated supplier for Lockheed Martin and General Electric.

Keeping up with the latest innovations and diversifying into new markets, such as medical, agriculture, appliances and energy, has enabled the company to succeed through difficult economic times. In fact, Baker just announced plans to invest $5.4 million in an additional facility, creating 25 jobs. The company was awarded a $150,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant for the project.
