KSS expands Sterling Heights headquarters, creates new jobs
Key Safety Systems, Inc. (KSS) is hitting large milestones this year. In June, the manufacturing company completed a merger with China-based Ningbo Joyson Electronics Corp., a global automotive supplier with facilities throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe. In October, KSS marked its 100th year of manufacturing mobility safety products for global markets. Now, they have announced a significant expansion that will lead to new jobs.
The company plans to invest $1.5 million in their Sterling Heights headquarters. Fifty new jobs in engineering and research and development will be created. As a result of this investment, the Michigan Business Development Program awarded KSS a $200,000-performance-based grant.
“Macomb County welcomes this important expansion project and the new jobs it will bring,” said County Executive Mark A. Hackel. “This project is another prime example of how Macomb County can meet the emerging needs of industry. From facilities to workforce, our economic development team is available to work with private sector partners and develop prosperous growth strategies.”
The city of Sterling Heights worked with KSS to create a recruitment video to attract talent for the new positions and will assist in hosting a talent mixer. The Macomb County Department of Planning & Economic Development will support this event through marketing and promotion efforts.
The talent mixer will take place on Thursday, Dec. 8. Those interested in finding a career at KSS will have the opportunity to meet with current employees and learn more about the company and available jobs.
