Rad nominated for a "One Tough Cookie" award

Deputy Director Vicky Rad is a contender for a “One Tough Cookie” award.  Given by the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan at their annual Cookie Gala, the award is meant to recognize those who inspire the next generation of female leaders.

Rad was nominated by Peter Keating, vice president of communications for General Dynamics Land Systems.  Citing her advocacy for job creation and economic growth as examples of how she sets an example for others, Keating praised Rad for her efforts to form the Michigan Automated Systems Collaborative, launch a marketing and branding campaign to promote Michigan’s defense industry as the Arsenal of Innovation and to work with officials from the Michigan Defense Center to launch an International Landing Zone for defense-related businesses looking to establish a foothold in North America.

The Girl Scouts will honor 16 nominees for the awards at their Girl Scout Cookie Gala from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25 at the DTE Headquarters in Detroit.
