NextGEN Macomb formed to offer young professionals to shape the future
Over the past few years, young professional organizations across the state have been gaining recognition and support as they embark on a mission to bring their voice to the communities in which they live, work and play. Recently, a group of young professionals in Macomb County have united to bring their voices forward, the result of which is NextGEN Macomb.
The newly formed group is dedicated to making Macomb County a preferred place to live, work and play. With an emphasis on offering members an opportunity to network with like-minded peers, they focus on strengthening our economy, giving back and offering a voice about the future of our county. Members of NextGEN Macomb have volunteered to work SterlingFest and HeartChase and hosted a build day for Habitat for Humanity.
The group welcomes members 20-40 years of age from all professional, educational and personal backgrounds.
“By investing in the Macomb area, we hope to strengthen the local economy, care for the community and leverage influence in the county’s future,” said NextGEN Macomb’s President Kevin Chandler. “By supporting and promoting Macomb’s Live, Work, Play mantra, we aim to retain and attract young professionals in our county.”
NextGEN Macomb will host a holiday networking event from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the Green Lantern Lounge in Clinton Township. A cash bar and light refreshments will be available. The event is free, but all are asked to bring a $10 gift card which will be turned over to the Macomb Charitable Foundation for distribution to families who are homeless or living in poverty.
