Prosperity Regions

The Macomb County Department of Planning and Economic Development partners with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to ensure that growth in the county is maximized.  The MEDC provides a vast number of programs and incentives, including trade and export assistance (STEP) as well as the Michigan Business Development Program.

When Governor Snyder took office, he established new prosperity regions, in which regional collaboration between state agencies and local agencies could maximize the economic development effort in the state.  The partnership between our department and the MEDC, as well as other partner organizations throughout Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties, plays a vital role in the business growth strategy of the region.  For more details on all of the MEDC’s programs and incentives, please visit www.michiganbusiness.org.
